1 week 3 days from now
Debbie Thomas is a professor, in the Department of Oceanography at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She declared her career as an oceanographer at the age of 10 when she did a project on oceans in her 4th grade classroom. She has sailed on two expeditions on the old JR.
ODP Leg 208 (March - May 2003) took us from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, all the way across the Atlantic to Walvis Ridge (find both of these on a map!) and then back to Rio. As you might guess, we had more than a week of transit time each way.
