In the Eye of the Storm

Last night we were hit by a tropical storm. Those of us who were asleep at that time woke up around 4 am, listening to the thrusters going crazy to keep the ship on site and the anchor banging against the hull.

We’re just over three weeks in to our trip, the casing is set, the drill crew is tripping out the pipe (POOHing-Pulling out of hole) and is at present is preforming a “cut and slip” which means replacing ~35meters of cable which travel over the crown sheave and hold our heavy (500,000+ lb) drill string.
