Kite Flying at Sea!

Yesterday was our big kite flying contest! Everyone had a great time on a nice windy day. We flew the kites on the helideck, located at the back of the ship. My kite didn’t do well, but it was fun anyway. Scientists had to be creative because we didn’t have kite making kits on board the ship. We had categories such as, the smallest kite, the best kite, the most creative kite, the ugliest kite, etc. I put some photos below for you.

The JR has reached the last drilling site and the coring has begun. We will remain here for about 5 days before heading back to port. A storm is approaching our area so we expect some rough seas for the next several days but then it should improve early next week.
