The JR is now in an off-contract period, but will be back in action October 23, 2012 for the start of the Costa Rica Seismogenesis Project Phase 2, studying earthquakes! To follow along, you can visit here<. There’s not a lot of information there yet, but we will be adding much more as the expedition grows closer!
Checking in with Joe Monaco, Education Officer for Expedition 329 in Fall, 2010:
My experience as the Education Officer on Expedition 329, "South Pacific Gyre Subseafloor Life," gave me a new and exciting insight into how oceanographic research is done. This has inspired me to present workshops to other educators about the work of the JOIDES Resolution. It gives me great pleasure to be able to liven up workshop presentations with first hand experiences about the expedition<.
Did you know that we surpassed 3,000 “likes” on the JR’s official Facebook page during this past expedition? Are you a part of the conversation? Come over and join us< for updates, contests, cool photos and more.
