Aaahhh... some sun

We got some sunshine today at last. It’s been raining heavily for the last few days so that we’ve been forced to stay mostly inside. But today the sun came out. So after breakfast, which was a roast lamb dinner, I went up to the top deck and sat in the sun watching the sea.

Yesterday the sea was a heaving mass of white tops, white horses crashing into each other and the ship, and you could maybe see 100m into the rainy haze. Today the sea has little white foals dancing about on top of the deep blue rollers. I even saw some super pretty fish, about 15cm long and wearing reflectors on their fins.

The topic of the day yesterday was beer, rum, whiskey, whisky and other alcoholic beverages. How cruel is that on a dry ship. There were people close to tears. I am not a big drinker but I enjoy a few bevies fairly regular like. Perhaps it’s the fact that when it’s denied it becomes more of a focus, but I’d really like a nice cold beer right now.

Oh yeah we got some rocks to look at and a report written.
