Expeditie DYNAPACC: wetenschap in de koudste oceaan ter wereld (science in the world’s coldest ocean)
Expedition 383: Dynamics of Pacific Antarctic Circumpolar Current (DYNAPACC) set sail on May 20, 2019 from Punta Arenas, Chile. Scientist on this expedition will investigate the Pliocene-Pleistocene atmosphere-ocean-cryosphere dynamics of the Pacific Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC), and their role in regional and global climate and atmospheric CO2 based on sediment records with the highest possible stratigraphic resolution. Anieke Brombacher, a paleontologist on board the JR, shares her experience during the expedition. Read her blogs in Dutch below.
