If you are thinking this is touch stuff – well it is! It takes smarts, grit, and a good dose of finesse to slice up a core with so much hanging on the line, and the scientists watching your every move. This is a pic of the “catwalk” no joke. The cores are marched in from the platform in the background where the drillers are hanging out in their red-is-the-new-black jumpers to those metal arms where they get cleaned up, cut into manageable lengths and carried into the Core Lab to the left. Our tech team has massive girl power, cool tattooed hard hats, and in literally minutes (particularly if we are not in their way) they have the cores prepped and ready to be analyzed.
