Two days of travel has a way of calming one’s nerves – I had been running on nervous energy since learning of my selection as the Education and Outreach (E&O) Officer on Expedition 361: Southern African Climates (or SAFARI).  But now I’ve arrived, with a good portion of my check off list completed and a full day available for exploring the beautiful, tropical island of Mauritius.  I will be meeting up with my counterparts from the most recent Expedition 360 for dinner, and tomorrow, the ship!
