I have to say that having grown up in a coldish climate that working in the tropics is usually a great pleasure for me. I like the feeling of the nice warm, damp air going outside especially as much of the ship itself is rather heavily air-conditioned so that I have to keep a sweater in the office. The only time that I regret working in low latitudes, and particularly this time of the year, is that it is terribly cloudy. This means that it is very hard to get a nice sunset or sunrise such as I have enjoyed at high latitudes where the air is clear. Here you can see sunrise yesterday from the ship which is about as good as I have seen it since we left port in Sri Lanka. At least it is nice to go outside for some fresh air even if the photographs are not everything that one might hope!
