Nei laboratori regna il silenzio. I tavoli e gli scaffali sono vuoti. Gli strumenti sono pronti ma fermi. Tutti sono in attesa. Modificando un po’ il titolo della poesia di G. Leopardi e’ la quiete PRIMA della tempesta.

At the beginning of the expedition there is silence in the labs. Empty tables and trays are waiting. The instruments are ready but not running. Everything and everyone is waiting: it is the “calm before the storm”.

Poi la voce la voce dall’altoparlante della cabina di comando del sistema di carotaggio dice “CORE ON DECK” e niente sara’ piu’ come prima sulla JR.

Then from the speakers the voice of the Driller says: “CORE ON DECK”, and nothing will be the same on the JR starting from now.
