We are on our to New Zealand! The crew brought up our last core yesterday and all of the scientists gathered to have a look. It was just like the first "core on deck" of the expedition; everyone was excited. The sun is out and it is very windy as we head towards New Zealand. It will take us about 5 days to reach port since we are about 1100 nautical miles out to sea.

The ship’s crew is doing some regular maintenance work, such as, painting, and repairing some of the equipment. There is always something for them to do. The scientists are finishing up some last minute testing in the labs and are starting to pack up some of the samples and equipment.
