Day 7 (Sunday 12 Sept)

Days begin to run together as we stay busy in the different labs, lectures, discussions, tours, etc.  So what a surprise when we got to the galley for lunch today… CAKES!  Cakes make a great analogy for sediments too.  The colors can indicate the composition.  Some cakes are airy and have lots of pores and other cakes are more dense.  And sometimes you get a surprise when you dig deep – such as a cherry or a nut.  Hmm wonder what would happen if I put a piece of cake in the mass spectrometer?
