Kia Ora

Kia ora, 15 days before I head off on Expedition 342 and I still have so much to finish off here at GNS that I’m getting a little panicky. So, this blog is just to let you know that I’ve figured out how to log in and will talk some more later. In case you are wondering, Te Pu Ao, the Maori name for GNS means the foundation, origin and source of the world. A little grandiose perhaps for what is essentially the New Zealand Geological Survey, but the message it’s meant to convey is that GNS is a research organisation concerned with understanding how the planet works, and that’s why we are participating in this expedition even though it’s quite a long way from Aotearoa. Chris.
