Success!

Today’s half marathon was a success, albeit a soggy one.  Co-chief Scientist Ian Hall and Stratigraphic Correlator Steve Barker, of Cardiff University, both successfully completed the 13.1 miles.  I showed my support by doing 2 jumping jacks, 1 sit-up and 1 push-up for each of the 328 laps (man, am I going to be sore tomorrow!), while the Sunset Shift of scientists offered great encouragement by flashing signs like “Don’t worry, we already fed the sharks” and “Stop reading this sign and keep running!”  1,200 British pounds were raised on behalf of the Goedgedacht Trust, which will go towards purchasing solar panels for the charity.  A box of donations is also being collected aboard the ship.
