Busy Day in the Labs
We started off today with a beautiful sunrise! Since yesterday, the labs have been very busy. The coring is going very well and a new core is coming up about every two hours. Each core is cut into 7 sections on the catwalk and several samples are taken from each. The chemistry lab has been so busy that scientists from around the ship are helping out when possible. Another busy lab is the physical properites lab where scientists are measuring temperatures and electrical conductivity of the cores. It looks like today will be another day of much activity on board the JOIDES Resolution.
