Another Busy Day!

Good day!! We had a beautiful sunrise this morning and a busy night. Many cores are coming into the labs and the chemistry lab has been especially busy. The water is about 5100 meters deep, so a core comes up on deck about every two hours. During that time, many samples are taken and prepared for study. In fact, it is so busy that scientists from some of the other labs are helping out in the chemistry lab. There is also a lot going on in the physical properties lab, where scientists are measuring how well the sediments allow electricity to flow through them. That information reveals something about how ocean water flows through the sediments. Well, it looks like my help is needed in the lab! See you tomorrow.
