… This is what our expedition has been so far. Mostly patience and perseverance. Remember my post about the drilling bit? After a few cores recovered 4 days ago, we lost the 4 cones and other parts of our coring bit. We now need to spend several days fishing and cleaning the debris at the bottom of the hole before we can resume coring.

The drillers and their teams continue to work harder than ever. They have already tripped about 100 km of pipe up and down since the beginning of the expedition. The science party maintains the spirit high. We all hope for nice results before the end of the cruise.
