We have been waiting to start further coring operations at hole U1456D. In the meantime, our scientists have been trying to complete their elementary reports. Taking advantage of some time at hand, we are engaged in Styrofoam bowl decorating activities in the conference room of the JOIDES. These decorated  bowls will be put in a laundry bag and sent down onto the sea floor (3600 m deep) with the drilling tools. Due to very high pressure at the sea floor, Styrofoam bowls get transformed into tiny pots. These shrunken and decorated Styrofoam bowls are a pleasant souvenir for the shipboard scientists and their family.
