Science talk series

In continuation to our science talks, the next presentation was made by Dr. Ravi Mishra, from IODP-India at National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR), India.

Dr. Mishra, is sailing onboard JR as a Sedimentologist and a member of our core description team on Expedition 355. His talk today provided an overview of various applications of high resolution multibeam bathymetry data, including one of the mandatory requirements for identifying a site on the seafloor before commencement of scientific drilling in the ocean. This crucial piece of data helps us in avoiding any kind of hazardous region on the seafloor for the purpose of deep ocean drilling.
