Shatsky Rise Expedition 324

It is Friday, 07:10, Sept. 11, 2009. This is my very first blog I’ve ever done (don’t know if my name shows up, but I am Nasseer). I’ve entered all who have asked to have a blogging account, so everyone should be good to go.

Very clear skies, a few wispy high clouds outside. We should be on-station in a couple of days, and ‘core on deck’ by next Thursday or Friday. During this expedition we will be drilling for hard rock, which is different from soft sediment in many different ways. I really don’t know, since I am not a geologist, so I am curious to find out. Those of you who are reading along, I hope you can comment, and are also curious about the science, techniques, and the adventure we are on.
