1 week 3 days from now
Stephanie is a first-year Master's student at the Texas A&M University Visualization Laboratory, where she studies computer graphics and animation. On Expedition 327, she is working with the outreach team to produce supplementary graphics and animations. This is her first experience on a scientific research vessel. It's going to be an adventure!
So, I finished the animation! Actually, it was done almost a week ago, but with the portcall and traveling back to school, I didn't get it uploaded to YouTube until just now. But hey, better late than never!
So I've gotten a little behind on blogging.. sorry guys! But, I promise I've been working really hard on finishing up the animation. In fact, it will be premiering TOMORROW! Get excited! While I'm waiting for my last render to finish up, I'll try to catch you up on what I've been doing.
What is a computer graphics artist like me doing on board the JR (besides eating lots of cookies and annoying scientists with my distinct lack of Earth science knowledge)? Well, let me show you.
If I told a little kid that I was on a ship drilling holes deep into the ocean floor, they might be worried that the whole ocean would drain away through a hole. Well, the consequences aren't quite that dire, but we definitely lose something valuable if the boreholes are left open.
Hi! I'm Stephanie, and I'll be working on computer graphics and animation as part of the outreach team for expedition 327. I'm pretty sure that I'm the least scientifically prepared person on the JR, but I am beyond excited to be working with everyone and learning as much as I can.
